wELCOME TO SUNSHINE COAST ART GROUP

The Sunshine Coast Art Group (SCArt) has been a creative arts hub for the local community for over 50 years.  As a not-for-profit community arts group, we pride ourselves on being a friendly meeting place for members to have fun whilst exploring the arts.

As a combined Arts Group, we have regular sessions in painting, life drawing, pottery and sewing.  We also have several bands that rehearse in our studios.

BECOME A MEMBER

Our studios are open for sessions where members meet to work on their own projects while sharing knowledge, skills, a coffee and a chat.  These sessions are untutored.

In addition to these member sessions, we have workshops and classes that are more structured and also open to the public.

Our club is 100% run by volunteers, so we expect all our members to volunteer from time to time to ensure the continued operation of the club and to keep our annual membership fees to a minimum.

We also have markets and exhibitions at our SCArt studios where you can come along and view our work and make a purchase of a unique creative piece.

From budding artists to seasoned talents, a warm welcome is extended to everyone considering joining our club.

Pottery

Our Pottery Group members enjoy playing with clay in all its forms including hand building, sculpting and wheel throwing.

We have a well-equipped pottery studio which has hand building work spaces, throwing wheels,  gas/electric/Raku kilns, extruder, slab roller, etc.

Painting

SCArt’s painting/art groups cover a diverse range of disciplines such as acrylic, watercolours, oils, pastels, and life drawing to name but a few.

Our art studio has regular weekly sessions for our members which are untutored.

In addition to these sessions, we have several classes where instruction is given and additional fees are payable.

All skill levels are welcome.

Life drawing, also known as figure drawing, is the practice of drawing the human form from observation. It involves sketching a live model who poses for a certain period, allowing artists to study and capture the intricacies of anatomy, gesture, and expression.
