MANY SHADES OF GREY - CHARCOAL WORKSHOP

We are excited to offer this inspiring workshop led by local artist Don Milner. Students will learn how to capture light, tone and form using charcoal.  Create your own works while learning about the tonal mapping, smudging, composition, layering, fixing and many other techniques.

INTRODUCTION TO GLAZE MAKING WITH MARC SAUVAGE

Learn the theoretical and practical aspects of glaze making over this 10 week course. 

This course is for ceramists looking to expand their skills into the world of glazing and create unique and exciting pieces.

Introductory students require no knowledge of ceramic chemistry, the course is practical and hands-on, and will teach you how to mix, process and apply glazes from existing recipes. This knowledge is expanded further in the Intermediate course.

THROWING FOR BEGINNERS WITH MARC SAUVAGE

This 8 week course is the perfect way to build your confidence on the wheel.  By the end of the course you will be able to make a cylinder shaped mug, a plate and bowl as well as a lidded bowl. 

Students are encouraged to practice their skills between classes to get the most from the course.  Included in the workshop cost is one best piece from each category which will be bisque fired by the studio, then glazed in class by the student, before having its final glaze firing by the studio. Students provide their own clay.
