wELCOME TO SUNSHINE COAST ART GROUP

The Sunshine Coast Art Group (SCArt) has been a creative arts hub for the local community for over 50 years.  As a not-for-profit community arts group, we pride ourselves on being a friendly meeting place for members to have fun whilst exploring the arts.

As a combined Arts Group, we have regular sessions in painting, life drawing, pottery and sewing.  We also have several bands that rehearse in our studios.

Upcoming sessions

BECOME A MEMBER

Our studios are open for sessions where members meet to work on their own projects while sharing knowledge, skills, a coffee and a chat.  These sessions are untutored.  Members also offer shared skills sessions for other members at no cost.

We also run workshops and classes that provide more structured learning.  Many of these are open to the public.

Our club is 100% run by volunteers, so we expect all our members to volunteer from time to time to ensure the continued operation of the Studios and to keep our annual membership fees to a minimum.

We also have provide opportunities for members to sell and exhibit their creations.

We have new member intakes several times a year.   The next new member information session will be 1pm. Saturday 24 January.  You can book on this session here.

Pottery & SCULPTURE

Our Pottery Group members enjoy playing with clay in all its forms including hand building, sculpting and wheel throwing.

We have a well-equipped pottery studio which has hand building work spaces, throwing wheels,  gas/electric/Raku kilns, extruder, slab roller and a collection of glazes.

Painting & DRAWING

SCArt’s painting/art groups cover a diverse range of disciplines such as acrylic, watercolours, oils, pastels, and life drawing to name but a few.

Our art studio has regular weekly sessions for our members which are untutored.

In addition to these sessions, we have several classes where instruction is given and additional fees are payable.

All skill levels are welcome.

LIfe DRAWING

Life drawing, also known as figure drawing, is the practice of drawing the human form from observation. It involves sketching a live model who poses for a certain period, allowing artists to study and capture the intricacies of anatomy, gesture, and expression.

CRAFT

Join the craft group and work on your own projects in the company of like minded creatives.  Whether you are into beading, jewellery making, macrame, knitting, crotchet, felting, mosaics, needle work, paper craft, scrapbooking, working with resin, matchstick creations or upcycling and repurposing, you are welcome.

Be inspired by what other members are making and get those creative juices flowing.
