“Dots and Dashes” A Pointilistic view of the World with
Mellissa Read-Devine
17 – 18 May 2025
The early impressionist painters are well known for their use of brushstroke and visual texture in their paintings.
With her own work often described as “macropointilist” Mellissa is keen to help you be able to find your own style and will encourage you to paint bolder and brighter, with an emphasis on vibrant colourful brushstokes. The weekend will be spent painting your choice of subject from your photos and sketches.
Day 1 will be spent exploring the use of brushes and other tools to make semi abstract works inspired by flowers.
Day 2 will be encouraging a different scene, perhaps an abstracted andscape or a continuation of the floral theme depending on your own tastes.
Mellissa Read-Devine is a Fellow of the Royal Art Society of NSW and is the Acrylics tutor at the RAS Art School. www.readdevine.com
