LIFE DRAWING

Come and join our Life Drawing sessions held at Sunshine Coast Art Group (SCArt).  These are untutored drawing sessions with a live model.

All skill levels are welcome including beginners.

WHAT IS LIFE DRAWINg?

Life drawing, also known as figure drawing, is the practice of drawing the human form from observation. It involves sketching a live model who poses for a certain period, allowing artists to study and capture the intricacies of anatomy, gesture, and expression.

What does a typical session look like?

Our sessions are held in the SCArt painting studio every second Thursday and biweekly on Saturdays. During the 2.5-hour sessions, the model holds a variety of timed poses, ranging from quick 1-minute gesture sketches to longer, more detailed 25-minute studies. We take a break halfway through for a coffee and tea break.

SCArt is a community art group – we foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where artists of all experience levels and backgrounds come together to learn, share, and inspire one another.  No pressure, just art.

What do I bring to my first session?
