SUNSHINE COAST ART GROUP

The Opening Ceremony will be held at 5pm on Saturday, 30th August with food, wine and music.

The Mayor will be present to open the exhibition.

Sunshine Coast Art Group members are invited to showcase their best works and compete to win one of 10 prizes totalling $5600 at the Brush, Body & Clay exhibition, an exciting new event. The exhibition includes the inaugural Penketh Art Prize, made possible by a bequest from an original member, Sylvia Penketh, plus Sunshine Coast Art and Framing Gallery prizes.

Members who don’t wish to sell their work can still submit items for assessment by a judging panel independent of SCArt and be in the running for a prize.

The exhibition will be set up on Friday 29 August, with judging occurring that afternoon followed by an opening reception in the evening where Sunshine Coast Mayor, Rosanna Natoli, will present eight prizes to the winners.  The final two prizes, People’s Choice awards, are voted on by the public and will be awarded at the show’s conclusion on Sunday August 31.  All exhibiting members, guests and sponsors are invited to the reception, with non-exhibiting members invited, subject to space availability.

The exhibition will be open to the public on:

  • Saturday August 30 – 8.30am to 7.00pm, with music, food and wine from 5pm.
  • Sunday August 31 – 8.30am to 3.00pm
